The Haldon Belvedere is a beautiful castle wedding venue situated on the highest hill at Haldon Forest near Exeter. When Amy and Gareth booked me as their wedding photographer, I couldn’t wait to photograph their wedding, and I got even more excited when I found out they had chosen Haldon Belvedere as their venue.
I arranged to meet up with them both at the Haldon Belvedere on the venue’s wedding fayre open day. This gave me the chance to explore the castle with them and scope out the best compositions for their photos. It was also great to meet Janet – Haldon Belvedere’s wedding planner.
On the big day, Janet ensured timings ran smoothly and was very helpful, allowing myself, Amy and Gareth plenty of time after the ceremony to explore the castle and capture our desired couples shots. The views are absolutely stunning from the rooftop of Haldon Belvedere, and on a clear day you can see for miles into the distance. Haldon Belvedere is secluded from the rest of the forest, allowing a sense of privacy and peacefulness on your wedding day. Amy and Gareth were an amazing and fun couple to work with. As well as capturing the essential traditional family photos, we captured many hilarious, joyous and spontaneous moments throughout the day too.
The Grand Hotel Torquay is situated right on the English Riviera seafront. From the Grand Hotel, you can see beautiful views across Torbay, and the beach is only across the road too!
I first met Victoria through a local South West car club. She was impressed with my automotive photography and after looking at my website, wanted to book me as her wedding photographer. She mentioned her venue was The Grand Hotel Torquay. Being a local living in Torquay myself, I quickly suggested options for photos on the beach opposite and for couples and group photos to be taken in The Grand Hotel’s gorgeous garden area.
Rockbeare Manor is situated on the outskirts of Exeter. This countryside manor wedding venue is surrounded by Devon’s beautiful scenic views. I couldn’t wait to film a wedding there and edit together a wedding video. When Ceri and Ross got in touch, they loved my candid natural style to filmmaking and wanted to book me. I was so excited to have the opportunity to film and create a wedding video at Rockbeare Manor. For all my couples, I produce two films, one full feature edit of the entire day, containing all of the ceremony, speeches and first dance. The second film is a highlights, showing all the best bits of the wedding, edited to a professional licensed music track. Ceri and Ross chose from my song list to licence the song “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz. This suited perfectly to the footage I captured through their wedding day.
One of their guests, Adam, had a drone and he took a few shots throughout the day. With his permission, Ceri gave me this drone footage to edit into their videos. This shows off the stunning Rockbeare Manor perfectly. It was great to make the most of the daisy fields during the couples shots and I was very pleased with the reflection shot of Ceri and Ross kissing in Rockbeare’s fountain. Ceri requested for her wedding video to contain many different candid shots of all her guests. Therefore, I made sure to capture natural portrait shots of all the guests throughout the wedding day. Many of these can be seen in the highlights video, as you see shots of all the guests congratulating Ceri and Ross.
After a busy year, I knew I wanted to create this wedding video, piecing together all the best bits from the different weddings I have had the privilege of filming over 2016 in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. Thank you to all the amazing couples, suppliers and venues that I have worked with! You are all amazing and because of you, I am working in my dream job – documenting unique weddings and making memories last forever – the power of wedding video!
For my last wedding of 2016, I was booked by Shannon and Rob to be their wedding videographer. They chose the beautiful St Audries Park in Somerset to be their venue. It was a great opportunity to capture both sides of the preparations (bridal and groom prep). We even managed to setup a shot of Shannon and Rob holding hands (with no peeking) around a doorway just minutes before the ceremony! After the initial celebrations and confetti, we enjoyed the wonderful gardens at St Audries Park and captured some lovely couples shots. All can be seen in their highlights video!
Towards the end of 2016, I had the great opportunity to be Abby and James’ wedding videographer. They chose the beautiful tunnels beaches wedding venue in Ilfracombe! It was a fantastic and emotion filled day. The perfect sunset weather allowed us to capture some amazing shots around tunnels beaches.
I really enjoyed capturing Jenny and Terry’s wedding day in Torbay – Devon. Their service was held at the beautiful St Mary’s Church in Brixham. After the service, we went to the historic Royal Seven Stars Hotel in Totnes for a food and drinks reception. The evening party was held at the Churston Court Hotel.
Gezzie and Mick’s wedding service was held at St John’s church in Shiphay. The wedding service was beautifully presented; featuring many personal and unique elements. Everybody had arrived to show their support and the church was full! Their afternoon and evening party was held at the Toorak Hotel in Torquay.
Rachel and Ryan’s Wedding Highlights at Huntsham Court Country House in Devon.
I am very excited to show you their wedding highlights film! The day was perfect; from their beautiful service at All Saints Church to the fantastic celebrations at Huntsham Court, everyone had a great time. We made the most of Huntsham Court’s spacious and vibrant gardens. The evening party was very energetic with some superb dance moves being pulled off!
Lianne and Clint’s wedding was held at Cockington Country Park in Torquay. They were blessed with beautiful weather and blue skies. I really enjoyed working with them to capture their big day! We even managed to travel to Meadfoot Beach and got some photos before the sun disappeared. The day was filled with fun, laughter and joy.
I spent the day at South Devon College photographing the hair show. The theme for the show was nature and wildlife. This show allows the hair stylist students to build their most creative designs. After all the preparation and judging, an evening catwalk show is held for all the models to show off their new hair designs. I will be posting up some evening show photos soon.
Gillian and Frank’s Highlights wedding film at Huntsham Court Country House in Devon.
I absolutely loved filming this beautiful winter wedding. The couple will receive this wedding highlights film, as well as a full feature edited film of the day.
I have been arranging many portrait sessions in the studio. This is to gather a collection of different style portraits that I can use for my university module. For the portrait of Tom, he was playing his guitar and I took the photo just as I called his name. I really love the genuine result, he was enjoying playing so much, he almost forgot I was there. For Gabriella’s portraits, I used different lighting setups to produce a mysterious shadow effect.
To start off my December, I was delighted to have the opportunity to photograph Debbie and Gary’s wedding. They have been members at St John’s Church in Shiphay for a long time, and the people of the church were very excited to find out they were getting married. The church was packed out with all their family and friends, and the atmosphere was thrilling.
I went along with Mark from Evolve Photography to photograph Leanne and Adam’s wedding. The wedding was held at the Buckland Tout-Saints. This luxury hotel is situated in the beautiful Devon South Hams. There was intermittent rain throughout the day, however there was a dry moment, giving us enough time to explore the hotel’s garden and compose stunning couples shots. Leanne certainly had the right idea, bringing her own wellington boots, which made some great photographs out in the garden. From the dining room decorations to the strawberries on the cake, every little detail about this wedding was planned to perfection.
